Replacing VW Bug Carpets

Classic VW bugs never really go out of style, they are always popular. One of the reasons they are so popular is that one body style was built nearly unchanged from 1945 thru the 1990s. Production in Germany ceased in 1979, but the Beetle continued to be built in Mexico until 2002.

Our VW Beetle is a 1973 model with a custom-built 1835cc engine, freeway flyer transmission, lowered suspension, and crusty interior. It is time to fix all of that. Jefferson and his daugther Josie worked together with components from TMI to restore the interior to its original glory. In this video, the carpet was replaced.

This process is not terribly difficult, but it certainly requires some patience and attention to detail. Check out the video to see exactly how they did it. If you would like see a step-by-step article, the entire process was featured in Hemmings Motor News Here.
